Before The Big Showcase
“Jade!”“Andre!” “Hey, good luck at the big showcase later.”
“I met somebody.” He chuckles happily and out of topic, grabbing both Jade’s forearms, giving it a light shake. “I met somebody and I think that she could be the one, you know.” Jade shakes free from his grip and smiles at him lightly.
She was happy for her best friend, really. But she couldn’t see him be happy with someone else but her.
“That’s great, Andre.” Her voice falls flat. She hopes that Andre would be too blinded by the image of this perfect girl to notice.
;“I know! I really want you and Beck to meet her.” He mutters, but then his phone beeps. Jade knew that tone, it was his text message alert.
“Well… I don’t…” Jade begins. She stops when a smile etches across Andre’s face . “Who texted?” Jade changes, Andre wouldn’t really want to hear her tell him that she didn’t want to meet the woman who was making him utterly joyous.
“It’s her. I can’t believe it!” His eyes grow wide as he pans from his phone. “She’s going to be at the big showcase later!”
“That’s great Andre.. but I’m not going.” Jade states. “I’m going on a date with Beck.”
Jade just decided that now.
The Mediterranean“So tell me again why we’re here instead of The Big Showcase?” Beck leans in closer to Jade with his eyebrows scrunched, his dinner fork and knife in either hand.
“Because you love me and you’re treating me out tonight.”
“Jade, is there something you aren’t telling me?” Beck’s eyes grow wider with concern as he puts his utensils down and holds her hand over the table.
“Jade? Is this about the girl Andre keeps talking about?”
“Beck, babe, believe me. I wouldn’t think about anyone else this Friday night but you.” Beck hides his smile but he doesn’t really believe her.
Sikowitz’s Improv Class, Two Days Later
Tori, Cat, Ilai, Beck, and Jade are currently on the elevated platform of Sikowitz’s classroom, all waiting for Sikowitz to finish talking so they could get on with their class.
“Hey, why don’t you wait out the hall?” Jade orders the new girl.
“Okay,” Tori complies, not really knowing what to say.
The group acts in a normal setting, all extremely professional. The thing is, Jade apparently has a bitter disliking to Tori Vega already because she asked her to get down on her knees and bark like a dog.
“Oh, it looks like this dog has bugs in her fur!” Jade says in character.
“Uhh, woof?!” is what Tori can only say. Cat and Ilai jolt up from their crouching position, as if touching Tori were touching acid.
“Ew!” They both state like children.
“But that’s okay! I read on the internet that coffee is a great way for getting rid of fur bugs.” Jade walks down and grabs a classmate’s Iced Coffee.
“You might not want to do that.” Her boyfriend suggests, utterly powerless and indifferent.
“Jade!” Her best friend declares with much spite.
It’s too late, Jade had already poured the coffee, with ice, on Tori Vega’s head.
After Sikowitz’s Improv Class
“Jade, Jade!” Andre runs after the goth. “Why did you pour coffee on Tori’s head?” He grabs her arm after catching up with her. She shrugs him off and raises an eyebrow at him.
“She was rubbing Beck’s stomach when I got inside the classroom.” She dismisses, taking a sip from her coffee. Andre wonders how she got coffee right after class but that wasn’t the key issue right now.
“Why, Jade? You knew I liked her.”
“Oh, was that her?” Jade says in a voice that mocked, then rolls her eyes. Her feet attempt to drag her to the parking lot but she’s stops because Andre’s pulling at her again.
“Jade. Please. This is my only shot at—” Andre’s sentence is cut off by Jade.
“Only shot at what!?” She spits out, hand extending to her side. “You don’t need her, Andre! She’s stupid.” Andre crosses his arms and moves closer.
“Yeah? Why’s that?” He laughs at the predicament he’s faced with. He remembers the time they were in the same position, when Jade wanted to be with Beck and Andre simply did not approve.
Jade takes a step back, both hands wrapping around her styrofoam cup. “…I don’t know.” Her eyes flicker away from Andre. “She just is.” It’s a whisper.
“No,” Andre comes closer, “Why don’t I need her?”
“You’re way better than her, Andre.” Jade looks up into his eyes. “She won’t make you happy.”
“You don’t get to say that, Jade. You don’t know what she’s done for me!”
“I’m your best friend, Andre. I know what’s good for you!”
“No.” Andre extends his hand in a ‘stop’ gesture.
“No?” Jade puts a foot forward. She was utterly confused. “What do you mean, no?!”
“You’re not my best friend anymore.” He huffed, he couldn’t quite get it out right.
“You don’t get to call shots on that kinda thing, Andre!”
“I kinda do!” He walks back, distancing himself from his ex-bestfriend. “Good bye, Jade.”
“Andre!” She calls out, the empty halls echoing her plea. “Andre, why?” He stops at the door, his hand at the handle and turns to face Jade one last time before he goes over to Tori’s.
“You stopped being the Jade I knew when you chose him over me.”
Silence.
Experimenting is fun. My first Story Fic EVER.
Five months ago, there was this really brief moment of confusion wherein I shipped Jandre more than Jori. Then I made this, snapped out of it and went back to being gay. I love how Jandre happened in Victorious even after I made this. So yeah.
